Zhao Yunyu 赵蕴玉 (1916-2003) In his long artistic career, Zhao Yunyu has extensively studied a wide range of paintings, including green and ink, gongbi and freehand brushwork Zhao Yunyu was educated inpainting his childhood, during his youth, and developed a love for traditional art. When he was instructed by Zhang Daqian in the 1940s, he had already returned to the teacher's artistic concept. In terms of creation, Zhao Yunyu follows Zhang Daqian's footprints and strives to get rid of the shackles of literati paintings. All landscapes, flowers, birds, figures, fruits and vegetables, grass worms, poultry, beasts, Buddhism and other paintings are all tried, and they all reach a certain height. Zhao Yunyu's portraits include Buddhist figures, historical figures, opera figures and poetic characters.
